Abstract
The resonance absorption of the shear acoustic waves in liquid crystal was studied. It is considered that the phase vector of helix is parallel to the OZ axis and perpendicular to the velocity vector vо, set by the moving plate. The length of the shear wave is comparable to the helix pitch distance. The experiments on the velocity of shear acoustic waves in twist-structures of nematic liquid crystals (NLC) were carried out. The obtained dependency is of resonance type deter-mined by the LC-structure helix. It is possible when the wave length distributed in NLC is comparable to the helix pitch distance. Twist-structures obtained in the cells with planar orientation on the plate surface, turned 90o against each other were studied. The experiment re-sults proved that the presence of twist in LC led to the resonance at the expansion of shear acoustic waves with the length comparable to the example size (d∼10÷ mkm).
