Abstract Photon correlation spectroscopy was applied for the first time to study viscous-elastic properties of ferroelectric liquid crystal showing relatively high fluidity in smectic C* phase (shock-free FLC). The spectral analysis of correlation functions made it possible to calculate viscous-elastic ratios defining dynamics of Goldstone mode of director’s fluctuations. The obtained results were discussed taking into account the data on elastic and viscous parameters derived from independent experiments.
