Abstract We studied the dynamics of structurization of polymer-liquid crystal composites on the basis of a light-sensitive monomer(di-pentaeritritol-pentahexaacrylat) and nemaic liquid crystal (BL038) formed by the reflective holography method. The composition was structurized by the radiation of a semiconductor laser with the wave length of 656 nm. It was shown that for the samples of 20 micrometer thick, the structure of alternating regions, enriched by the polymers or liquid crystals, forms at two stages. The fast stage is when the structure forms mainly within 30 seconds as the initial composition is exposed by two laser beams of 27 мVт/cm2. The second stage is a slow stage when the sample is post-processed by additive beaming at increased temperature.
