Abstract The hypothesis about composite structure of boundary lubrication layer, formed by two components of the lubricant: surface- and chemical-active was offered. The example of such optimized lubricant system, containing surfactant and peroxide substance which has appeared effective during cutting of stainless steel was demonstrated.
Keywords: boundary lubrication layer, mesomorphism, surfactant, peroxide, cutting fluid, metal machining
