Abstract The shear viscosity of monodisperse suspensions and binary mixtures of polystyrene latexes are described in the frames of a generalized flow model. The good agreement between the experimental and calculated values was obtained with the help of the generalized flow equation. The coefficient is ηc independent of the concentration ratio between the parts of latex 141 and latex 84 at a constant total volume concentration of latex. The coefficient τc increases with increasing the ratio between the parts at transition from large to small particles. The coefficient χ has the minimum value at middle concentration ratio of latex 141 to latex 84. The minimum of zero shear viscosity is the result of a more efficient packing of polydisperse spheres in aggregate.
