Abstract
Special features of crystalline structures of mesogenic alkyloxybenzoic acids are discussed. X-ray data of six acids (alkyl: butyl, pentyl, hexyl, heptyl, nonyl, dodecyl, radiation MoKα at 120 K) are obtained. Decreasing of the packing factor at increasing of alkyl chain of mesogen is revealed. Results of semi-empirical calculations and X-ray data are compared.
