Abstract
1-Pentyl-, 1-decyl- or 1-dodecyl-3,5-diamino-1,2,4-triazoles were synthesized by di-rect alkylation of 3,5-diamino-1,2,4-triazole with corresponding alkyl bromides. The com-pounds were characterized by MS-, IR- and NMR spectral data, elemental analysis. The mesomorphic properties of 1-decyl- and 1-dodecyl-3,5-diamino-1,2,4-triazole were studied by polarizing optical microscopy and differential scanning calorimetry. It was shown that given compounds exhibit mesomorphic properties both on heating and cooling.
