Abstract
Investigations of the total complex resistance (impedance) of the 8CB liquid crystal doped with cetyl-trimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB) ionic surfactant in the frequency range f =10-2 – 108 Hz were performed. It was established that the introduction of ions into the surfactant leads to an increase of the real and imaginary components of the impedance at low frequencies. Using the method of substitution of the sample with the equivalent electrical circuit, the approximation of the impedance spectra was done and the electrical characteristics of the material were determined.
