Prognosis of Mesomorphism, Synthesis and Properties of Tetrakis-4-(1-benzotriazolyl)tetrakis-5-(4-triphenylmethylphenoxy) phthalocyanine of Copper

Abstract
Modeling of molecules and prognosis of columnar mesomorphism for tetrakis-4-(1-benzotriazolyl)tetrakis-5-(4-triphenylmethylphenoxy)phthalocyanine and its copper complex was conducted. It was established that metal-free phthalocyanine is capable of forming mesophase. Ability of a copper complex to form mesophase decreases. With the purpose of checking the results of the prognosis tetrakis-4-(1-benzotriazolyl)tetrakis-5-(4-triphenylmethylphenoxy)phthalocyanine of copper was synthesized. The synthesis was carried out by boiling initial metal-free phthalocyanine with copper acetate in DMF. Mesomorphism of heterosubstituted phthalocyanines was investigated by thermopolarization microscopy. The results of the prognosis were verified by experimental data.
