Abstract We consider the use of solutions of water-soluble synthetic dyes in the development of a pre-existing research on the use of innovative dyes soluble in tetrachloroethane for realization of the effect of the light polarization plane rotation. The comparison with the similar effect revealed through application of water sugar solutions has been done. The prospects of application of these materials for the aims of the telecommunication, laser technique and biomedicine systems have been discussed.
