Abstract
The complexation of 1-hexadecyl-4-aza-1-azoniabicyclo[2.2.2]octane bromide and 1-ethyl-4-aza-1-azoniabicyclo[2.2.2]octane bromide with nitrate Co (II) and bromide Cu (II) in acetone has been investigated by spectrophotometry (Ostromyslenskii – Job method and molar ratio method). The characteristics of the complexes (stoichiometry and stability constant) and the complexation process (the Gibbs free energy change) were determined. Their dependence on the nature of the metal and the ligand structure (its hydrophobicity) was established.

Keywords: alkylated derivatives of DABCO, transition metals, complexation, complex stability constant
