Abstract
The liquid crystal behavior and structural properties of lyotropic lanthanum-containing lamellar mesophases, in the presence of a molecular platform – third dendrimer generation – polypropylenimines hexadekaamine DAB-16 were investigated. Concentration limits of DAB-16, which can be added without destroying the mesophase structure of the two basic systems C12EO4/La/H2O (with a water content of 36 wt. % and 63 wt. %) were found. According to small angle X-ray diffraction pattern the incorporation of dendrimer molecules into the bilayer structure, depending on the water content in the system, was expected. Based on the results of spectral studies the interaction between the lanthanum ions and amine functional groups of the dendrimer that provides fixation of globular molecules in the aqueous layer of the lamellar mesophase was established.
