Conditions of the Hydrolytic Condensation Reaction of Dialkyldichlorosilanes and Separation of Dialkyl Hydrolysates in the Preparation of Organosilicone Orientants for Liquid Crystals

Abstract Composition of hydrolytic condensation products of dialkylchlorosilanes (methylethyldihlorosilane and diethyldichlorosilane) obtained in various reaction media was investigated by the method of gas liquid chromatography. The optimal conditions for the preparation of cyclic and linear oligomers with terminal hydroxy groups of the given chain length were found. The isolated organosilicon compounds were tested as orientant for liquid crystals.
