Abstract
Mesomorphic properties of p-n-propyloxybenzoic acid – p-n-propyloxy-p'-cyanobiphenyl system were studied by polarizing thermomicroscopy and differential scanning calorimetry. Bulk properties of the system were investigated by polythermal dilatometry method. Analysis of temperature and concentration dependencies of bulk properties was performed. Formation of chained supramolecular associates between p-n-propyloxybenzoic acid and p-n-propyloxy-p'-cyanobiphenyl due to hydrogen bonding was established. Dielectric properties of the system were investigated by the dielcometry method. Two subphases were found in the region of nematic phase existence. These subphases possess different mesomorphic and physical properties
