Abstract
Mesomorphic properties of symmetric meso-arylporphyrines containing long-chain hydrophobic substituents in phenyl rings were investigated by means of polarizing microscopy and DSC. Seven compounds are mesomorphic, and five compounds possess lyotropic mesomorphism in binary systems with chloroform, benzene and toluol.
