AbstractThe dependency (the square of the dimensionless magnetic field tension on the square of the dimensionless wave vector of the domain structure) is analytically received for the effect of the transitional hydrodynamic instability, appearing in nematics at the transverse bending deformation in a magnetic field. It is shown that: a) the function is the result of division with the remainder of two polynomials of the fourth and the second degrees with the coefficients, which are defined by combination of four dimensionless viscosities η 2/η 1, η 6/η 1, η 7/η 1, η 8/η 1; b) the value of h 2 at the minimum of the function is a square of the threshold field of the domain formation h 2.
