Abstract
We present the results of experimental studies on the modification of vegetable oils, synthesis and study of the tribological properties of plant-based lubricants. We show the results of sunflower oil oxidation and of making «greener» lubricants by mechanochemical alcoholysis of rapeseed oil. We have found that these processes allow obtaining eco lubricants with significantly improved tribological characteristics. We also have found that for the intensification of the transesterification process during the mechanochemical alcoholysis and the modified lubricant production, it is advisable to use acid catalysts. The friction of such lubricant reduces by 12 % and the wear by 31 %.
